Who are we

Inspire Cameroonian women to pursue STEM education & careers

LES GO SCIENCENT is an association founded in Cameroon. The goal is to inspire girls and women in Cameroon to pursue STEM careers to contribute to the socio-economic development of our country.

We empower women in STEM to harness their scientific expertise to drive innovation and solve our nation’s challenges.

Our contribution

LES GO SCIENCENT has a positive impact in our country by equipping women to be change drivers through scientific innovation.

LES GO SCIENCENT is an association that brings impact in several ways:

Gender Equality: promoting women in STEM helps reduce gender disparities in education and the workforce.
Role Models: empowered women in STEM serve as role models, inspiring future generations of girls to pursue STEM careers.
Improved Quality of Life: women-led STEM solutions address societal challenges, improving health, sustainability, and overall quality of life.

Economic Growth: women in STEM contribute to economic development by filling in-demand jobs and driving technological advancements.
Enhanced Innovation: diverse perspectives lead to more creative and innovative solutions to complex problems.
Community Development: empowering women in STEM fosters a culture of inclusivity and collaboration within communities, leading to a more cohesive and supportive society.

Our activities

We work to achieve our goals through a set of activities:

Conferences

Through conferences, we increase their understanding of the role of innovation, science and technology in our country. And we empower students to be leaders in STEM fields. It’s also the best opportunities for networking.

Workshops

Through workshops, we equip them to master new skills and be competitive.

Mentorship program

Through mentoring, we empower women so that they’ll be confident enough to pursue STEM studies/ careers. They’ll be in contact with successful female role models in STEM.

Many of them need scholarships to support their studies and after graduation, they need to find jobs. We share opportunities with them. Others would be interested to attend conferences abroad to deepen their knowledge of a specific topic, we also share those opportunities.

Providing grants

Many women here are economically disadvantaged and therefore, not able to support their studies. We help them financially.

School outreaches

School outreach is crucial in igniting young girls’ interest in STEM, allowing them to envision and pursue a future filled with endless possibilities in science, technology, engineering and mathematics.
